She likes boys. There has always been a boy. Jake, Jarrod, Eric, Kyle, Adam, Aaron, Dexter, Andrew, Martin, Matt, Alex… A boy for every sin she’s committed. A boy for every heartbreak she’s ever had to deal with. One replacing the other, the name doesn’t matter. They’re all the same.

“Another one?” I ask. She nods and smile. She hold his name on a paper close to her heart. I’m silent and I sit. She walks away.

“Boys are bad. They’re nothing but trouble.” he says. When he says that I get disappointed because I agree yet I think about him everyday. I shake my head at this. It’s foolishness, I tell myself.

“Boy are bad, nothing but trouble.” Seffiel repeats when I explain this. He laughs at me. He says it’s only normal. “I don’t want to be normal. I don’t want to like just anyone. I don’t want to be like her, his name on a piece of paper in the back of my pocket. I don’t want to be like them."
